"Graphic Design is the process of visual communication and problem-solving through the use of typography, space, image and color." -Wikipedia
For someone who enjoys problem solving and learning something new on a daily basis, the design field may be perfect for you. Today, design means so many things! Design is everywhere! Imagine a world without designers whether that be graphic designers, ux/ui designers, front end developers, web designers, interior designers, etc. Walls would be white, businesses wouldn't have any type of identity, websites and apps would not be possible...there would not be an artistic touch to anything at all. The design field is constantly advancing and evolving. Designers are expected to know way more than they used to. Being a graphic designer meant something totally different 10 years ago than it does now. Today, graphic designers are expected to be knowledgable in print, web and digital design as well as an emerging field in UX/UI Design.
What most people don't understand is that designing for a client relates a lot to establishing a good user experience for the potential customers. Designers have to research and put into perspective many different people's perspectives when coming up a final product.
"The quicker non-designers can begin to understand that design is about user experience over artistic output, the more effective they will be at working with designers to achieve the most successful deliverables possible, and the happier both parties will be." - Keith Frankel
Being a designer whether you are a graphic designer, UX/UI designer, Web designer (Front end developer, etc) involves constantly learning something new daily. Being a designer requires you to be driven and passionate, daily striving to become better at what you do!!
It's challenging, constantly advancing and evolving, technical, creative, and rewarding!
